What You Should Know About Gum Disease
Gum Disease Treatment
Brushing our teeth is only one part of proper daily dental hygiene and care. We have to do all we can to keep those teeth. If we wind up with periodontal disease we can look forward to either costly or painful procedures to help improve the situation, or sometimes periodontal disease can result of loss of teeth. Anyone who has gone through gum disease treatment can attest to that.
A good dentist will try to help prevent more gum loss by preforming deep cleaning treatments. He will numb you since the procedure can be slightly uncomfortable. He will dig deep into where bone loss has occurred and clean out a bacterium that forms there. He will also provide an in-home routine that we should follow including teeth brushing; flossing, power flossing and mouth wash daily. It is important to follow a periodontics routine daily without fail.
Gum disease isn’t the end of the world, but it also isn’t something to be ignored. We need to make sure we hold onto our teeth as long as possible and that begins with healthy gums. Let’s make sure to keep our teeth!
